Dr. David Lentz

Dr. David Lentz has been caring for patients in and around Snellville since 1980. His style is to make patients feel comfortable and then do his best to make them feel better. “And if a patient needs something I can’t provide, I will do all I can to find someone who can,” says Dr. Lentz. “I trained to do a little of everything as a family practitioner, but sometimes patients need more specialized care.” Having been in and around Gwinnett for more than 25 years, he has a great relationship with many in the local medical field and calls upon his colleagues with a familiar knowledge of matching patient to provider.
A graduate of The Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Lentz settled in Gwinnett after a residency in Jacksonville, Florida at the Naval Regional Medical Center. “I am a Certified Flight Surgeon and perform flight physicals for pilots,” says Lentz. Providing pilots with physicals isn’t the closest he gets to an airplane. This doc also holds a pilot’s license of his own. And as if piloting regular aircraft were not enough, Dr. Lentz is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association of Gwinnett.
At home, Dr. Lentz is married to a surgeon and they have a 23 year old son. Hisa Yamaguchi is a general surgeon here in Gwinnett County. “We always joke that I put band aids on patients and she cures them,” laughs Dr. Lentz. Playtime at home involves Chelsea, a Golden Retriever. “She loves to play and run,” says Dr. Lentz. “I also love to run and bicycle,” he adds, “I used to do triathlons, but now I jog and bike.”
