Lilburn - Arianne Taylor, a senior at Parkview High School, finished 5th in a state-wide marketing competition sponsored by Decca Marketing Club on March 7-8. She will compete in the national competition, along with about 15,000 other students, on April 26-29 in Atlanta. The regional competition was held in January. Each competition consists of two parts: a written test of 100 multiple-choice questions and role playing. With her category being food marketing, she had to show the most effective way to display items in a grocery store in the regional competition.
For the state competition, she was required to play the role of an employee at a grocery store, who has worked at the same job for several years. Her assignment was to motivate herself and other employees to keep them excited about their jobs. “I am excited about the national competition,” Arianne said. “I am interested in a career in business and I have already learned a lot.”
Arianne, daughter or Suzanne and Don Taylor of Lilburn, will graduate from Parkview High School in May 2008 and will be attending BYU-Idaho in the summer, pursuing a degree in Interior Design with a minor in Business. She currently works at a local Kroger store. She starts her day before school each morning by attending a bible study class sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
