North Gwinnett High principal named 2008 Georgia High School Distinguished Principal

A Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) veteran educator has been named a “2008 Georgia High School Distinguished Principal,” an honor that recognizes school principals for their leadership, and service to their local school community. The Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP) presented the state honor to Dr. John Green, who has served North Gwinnett High as its principal for 10 years.
The distinguished principal recognition is presented annually by the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals. The honor is a special one, as it is based on recognition from peers. The honorees receive nominations from outstanding secondary leaders from around the state.
The Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals is strongly committed to supporting the visions of quality school leaders, the implementation of which significantly impacts students, school, and its community. By focusing on the exemplary work that high performing principals do across the state, GASSP seeks to encourage a higher level of accomplishment for all principals. The individuals recognized by GASSP today are role models for principals at all levels.

This year, Dr. Green celebrates his 10th anniversary as principal at North Gwinnett High. He joined Gwinnett County Public Schools as a math teacher and coach at Meadowcreek High in 1987, moving to Berkmar High and Brookwood High as assistant principal before arriving at North Gwinnett High.
