Brooks Garcia, a popular local gardening guru, will present a program on "Behind the Scenes at Chelsa, the Greatest Flower Show on Earth"at the March meeting of the Mountain Shadow Garden Club. Brooks is the principal designer at Fine Gardens, a garden design firm established in 1989 to specialize in custom residential gardens. He has been gardening for 35 years, graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and studied classical garden design in Europe after graduation. Brooks' personal garden, as well as those of several clients, have appeared on HGTV's "A Gardener's Diary" and in many local and national magazines. He is an avid supporter of the SE Flower Show and is a repeat recipient of their major awards, including Best in Show, the Mayor's Trophy and the Governor's Trophy. Brooks, working with his friend Marney Hall in England, has also won a Silver or Bronze Award at the Chelsa Flower Show every year since 2002. He, therefore, has an intimate knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes at the world's largest and most spectacular Flower Show.
