Don’t let your joy leak out! Joy is the antidote for the poison of discouragement. So, let’s get a refilling while you are reading this article. Humor and laughter are primers for joy and hope is the sustainer of joy. The Author of Proverbs 17: 22 gives heavenly advice when He says “A merry heart does good like medicine but a broken spirit dries the bones.” Researchers have found that laughter has three specific positive effects on your body. Where Jesus goes to church
In the deepest jungles of Africa; in the desert of Arabia; in the population packed urban centers of the world; in homes, hospitals, prisons, and schools. Wherever He is invited His presence can be expected. I inherited a wonderful old book from my grandmother entitled PRAYER by a Norwegian theologian named Ole Hallesby. It is the best book on the subject that I’ve ever studied. Dr. Hallesby begins his book by teaching us that Prayer is as simple as giving Jesus access to our hearts. More...
Glimpses of grief &
glimmers of hope
Much has been written to assist those of us who have lost love ones to manage our grief through the holidays. The hurried pace and close proximity of Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day and other holy days and festive occasions present real challenges to our journey through grief. The celebrations of those special days are woven into the memories of our family traditions and the love ones from whom we are now separated. More...

Are we headed the way of Rome?
For the first time in modern U.S, history, the United States Government is paying out more money, in cash, to citizens, than it is taking in taxes. The U.S. spent $2.3 trillion on specific benefits to citizens last year, while the government's total income was only $2.2 trillion. Roughly 60% of all Americans now receive some significant financial benefit from the government. Less than 50% of all people pay any federal income taxes. And roughly 10% of all taxpayers (those called the rich) foot virtually all the significant income taxes levied. More...
Death is all around us
You and I are surrounded by death. As much as we try to ignore it, run from it, deny it, or hide from it, death is constantly in our face. Last year in the United States about 2.4 million people died. Last year in Georgia almost 68,000 people died. People around us are dying all the time. We hear about murders on the news. We read about accidents in the newspaper. We see on television news how many of our soldiers have given up their lives fighting on our behalf in another part of the world. We have friends or loved-ones who have faced an early death because of disease or an accident. More...
When is it time to turn
to the Lord?
The world in which we find ourselves is experiencing incredible change and turmoil. We see headlines and news accounts from around the world displaying turmoil in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and other countries in the Middle East. We hear that China’s communications systems were knocked out by Solar Flares, and that New Zealand is dealing with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake. We read of two retired couples who were giving away bibles in parts of Africa and were captured on their yacht by pirates. More...
Most people believe that it is impossible to please God. Because of this they either deny He exists or keep their distance from Him. What they lose in this standoff is immeasurable related to their quality of life and how they spend eternity. From the beginning of the Bible God is seeking to have relationship and fellowship with people. It was in the Garden of Eden that God came looking for His first couple. When He found them in distress He actually made their first suit of clothes. More...
